Ameren: Hundreds of Peoria Co. Residents Without Power, Following Evening Storms

Creative Commons

More than 2,100 Peoria residents were without power Wed. night, as a result of the afternoon and evening storms.

Thursday morning, Ameren reported that 568 people in Peoria County were still without power, and 131 people in Woodford County.

Ameren crews worked overnight to restore the service. City of Peoria storm clean up crews also worked last night to remove fallen trees and limbs. But because some of the trees came down with power lines not all debris in the right of way could be completely removed.

All the lines are expected to be cleared by Thurs., and city crews will be back out clearing the remaining debris. City workers are removing debris only from the right of way.

Residents are asked to make use of the landscape pickup through PDC for the limbs that landed on private property.
