CityLink is celebrating its 9th Annual Passenger Appreciation Day Thursday. All passengers on fixed routes ride for free in honor of CityLink’s beloved General Manager Jerome Lilly.
Lilly died unexpectedly in 2007. Passenger Appreciation Day is April 20 because it was Lilly’s birthday.
CityLink also offers a special token at the transit center that day. This year it’s a free ID holder that can also be used to store a bus pass.
The ID holders are available in the lobby of the Transit Center from eight o’clock to one and at the customer service window after that until they run out.
Passenger Appreciation day also falls two days before Earth Day. CityLink says it’s an opportunity for people who may not normally ride the bus to enjoy a safe, comfortable ride and do their part to participate in Earth Day.
