CityLink is looking for a new general manager once again.
John Myers resigned from his position on Jan. 17. ShamRA Robinson, the director of community engagement and public relations for CityLink, said the move was "unexpected."
"We appreciate his contributions during his time with us and wish him the best in his future endeavors," she said.
Myers' resignation was accepted after an hour-long executive session at a special meeting of the Greater Peoria Mass Transit District board of directors on Jan. 17. Myers had participated in the regular board meeting just four days prior.
Assistant general manager Kofi Kisseh is the acting general manager until further notice, Robinson said. Kisseh has over 10 years' experience in the transportation field, previously serving in positions in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Myers and Kisseh were both hired in May 2024 after the retirement of general manager Doug Roelfs. In his hiring announcement, Myers was described as a "distinguished figure in the realm of public transit" with over 35 years of experience.
