The minivan was traveling west on Main when it was smashed into by the Lexus that ran the light.

A parked car was also struck in the crash that landed the Lexus on the corner of the Peoria County Courthouse Square. Witnesses say the Lexus was traveling well beyond the posted speed limit. The rain meant there were few people on the corner that usually has a lot of lunch time foot about the time of crash.

The driver of the vehicle fled the crash scene on foot. Those who saw the accident say the man was picked up in another car. Police have not made any arrests so far and are still investing.
