The auction planned for the shuttered Mitsubishi Plant in Normal is postponed. The property that's large enough to hold 50 football fields was slated to go up for auction October 18th.
The posting on Maynards Industries Auction website says the massive facility is ‘pending going concern entirety sale.’ That is to say, the company considering the purchase is financially stable for the foreseeable future, and capable of purchasing the plant without curtailing or changing its current scale.
The Mitsubishi plant closed early this year and was purchased by Maynards with the plan to place it on auction. It’s unclear what party is considering the purchase.
