Caterpillar celebrated manufacturing day with some area high school students with disabilities who are focused on a career future.
The students had an opportunity to operate welding and drill simulators as well as a 3-D printer.
Jenny Heather is the Recruitment Manager for U-S Production. She says the simulation event for students with disabilities is one avenue Caterpillar travels to ensure a diverse future talent pool. “This is just a small effort that we could do with in the recruiting community to make sure that can engage students at a young enough age when they are taking their options to come and work with us and get excited about manufacturing and that’s what manufacturing day is all about.”
About 40 students from the Special Education Association of Peoria County participated.
