Peoria gets long-distance call to space

NASA.org

The Peoria Riverfront Museum will have a direct line to the International Space Station this next month.  The museum was chosen as one of only 17 worldwide locations to participate in the U.S. Amateur Radio on the Space Station program.

Students will get a chance to participate in a live call to speak with crew members aboard the space station. This opportunity is part of the Peoria Riverfront Museum’s children’s summer programming and ties in with the “Be the Astronaut” exhibit opening June 18th.

The International Space Station Live Call event will be held in the Giant Screen Theater in late July. The event is free and open to the public, but the date has not yet been determined.
