Salvation Army Drop-In Center closing

The Salvation Army is closing its Drop-In Center for the homeless July 1st.  The HUD grant that funds the program has not been renewed.

Without the money, the Salvation Army Division Commander says the agency cannot continue to provide the services including food, showers, and job training.

The Drop-in Center program was taken over by the Salvation Army after the YWCA closed in 2013.  The Salvation Army is maintaining the Fites Center that provides daily feeding, and an  overnight Safety Net Shelter for men.
