Storm Debris Pickup Continues

The City of Peoria public works department is going through neighborhoods in an effort to complete the first pass of debris pick up from last week’s storm. The city is not using the regular trash pickup schedule because of the varied amount of damage throughout the community.

Tree limbs should be placed in 45-gallon containers that are marked landscape waste or bundled at less than five feet lengths and all material for pick up should be bundled at 50 pounds or less. Public works crews are doing a second pick-up next week. All debris to be picked up should be placed at the curb by next Monday.

The city of Washington will also pick up yard debris starting today until Friday, January 15th. Details are available here. The Village of Peoria Heights scheduled two additional collections on January 15th and 16th.
