Peoria, East Peoria purchase new trucks for snow removal

Caterpillar CEO Doug Oberhelman presented the mayors of Peoria and East Peoria with two trucks Monday.  Both cities purchased the trucks to help combat the winter weather.  Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis says the trucks highlight a connection between the city and the region’s largest-employer:

“It’s not just the initiative that we’ve been working on over the holidays about supporting your local merchants and retailer. It goes all the way to big ticket items like this.”

The trucks cost both cities about 200-thousand-dollars each.  The new purchases put Peoria’s truck fleet at 14, with seven trucks for East Peoria.
