Pekin Selects Final Police Chief Candidate

The City of Pekin has selected a new police chief.  City Manager Darin Girdler says the city is in final negotiations with the candidate to replace former Chief Greg Nelson, who resigned in February.  Girdler says the salary range for the position pays between $105,000 to $116,000.  Girdler says the city received about 25 resumes for the police chief job after Nelson left the post. He says the new chief will be announced once negotiations wrap-up.
