UICOMP gets grant funding for cancer, stem cell research

The University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria is  getting $280,000 in grants for research.  The funding will go toward studies on two types of brain cancer commonly found in in children.  The grants will also fund research that looks at how stem cells can treat patients suffering a stroke.  The funding comes from the Illinois Neurological Institute and William E. McElroy Charitable Foundation.
