The Peoria County Animal Protection Services is closed for shelter adoptions today. The unexpected closure is necessary for construction at the front entrance of the facility.
People needing to visit the shelter for reasons other than adoption are encouraged to call before they visit to ensure access. Animal control officers continue to respond to community calls as normal.
Regular adoption hours resume Thursday from noon - 5:00 p.m.
To view all adoptable animals online, visit www.petharbor.com; enter Peoria as the city location and select Peoria County Animal Protection Services from the list of shelters.
Interested adopters can also view pets available for adoption on PCAPS' Facebook page at www.facebook.com/pawspeoria.
Regular adoption hours are Monday - Saturday, noon - 5:00 p.m. PCAPS is located at 2600 NE Perry Ave in Peoria.
