Most Pekin Illinois American Water customers are no longer under the boil order brought on by the water main break.
Roughly 40 customers remain under a boil water order. These customers are located between 898 – 2011 Court Street, the 600 block of Monge and 600-700 blocks of East Shore Drive. They are being contacted directly and via door hangers from Illinois American Water.
Crews are still working to repair the water main and Route 9 in Pekin is closed from parkway Drive to East Shore.
The work is expected to be complete and the roadway partially reopened by Monday, Aug. 17, 2015. Partial road closures may be needed next week. Detours and signage will remain in place to guide motorists. Motorists are asked to use caution, obey traffic signs and follow detour routes and avoid the area if possible.
