Peoria names intersection after Royce Elliott

The intersection of Monroe and Evans in Peoria is now named after a well-known comedian and radio personality.  Royce Elliott grew up near Morton Square Park.  Longtime friend Roger Monroe says the intersection is now known as Royce Elliott Place:

“It’s a little jolt to their memory. Gosh I remember the guy and how much we miss him, because of the sense of humor and happiness to the lives he brought which number in the thousands if not even more than that.”

Elliott graduated from Woodruff High School where he played multiple sports and set records in football.
