Peoria County Animal Protection Services is announcing its next director, Bridget Domenighini.
She was previously the shelter’s services coordinator and served as a veterinary technician. As director, she will oversee daily operations, 15 employees, volunteers and a more-than-one-million-dollar budget, a county press release said. Longtime director Lauren Malmberg retires at the end of the month.
The County says she will also work on programs to reduce the unwanted pet population, increase live release rates and reduce euthanasia.
