Pekin launches tool aimed at financial transparency

Pekin launched a new online tool to give residents easy access to the city’s finances.  The financial-analysis platform displays four-years of government spending. It also explains what city expenses are, what property tax revenue pays for and what the personnel costs are to the city.  The program is powered by OpenGov.com.

Residents can also look up how much money the city collected from parking tickets, or spent on street programs in recent years.

Visitors can also search thousands of department spending transactions dating back to 2013.
