Caterpillar announced 35 indefinite payoffs at its Pontiac fuel systems plant. Cat spokeswoman Barbara Cox says the company is also releasing 10 supplemental workers starting July 20th. She says the layoffs are needed to bring product more in-line with demand. The move follows more than 250 layoffs at Caterpillar’s East Peoria plant since the beginning of the year.
