UICOMP students hold ‘Match Day’ ritual

Fourth year medical students across the country – including nearly 50 in Peoria - tore into sealed envelopes today.  The students at the U of I College of Medicine in Peoria found out where they would go for their residency programs in the annual “Match Day” ritual. Tremont Student Brittany Price will study emergency medicine at OSF.  She says the Match Day culminates years of work:

“It’s quite a process and it can be emotionally straining and draining, but it can also be really incredible and really exciting.”

Peoria has 70 medical resident positions that were filled as of the matches revealed today.
