Ray LaHood weighs-in on Schock’s resignation

The last person to hold the Illinois’ 18th District Congressional seat is weighing-in on Aaron Schock’s resignation.  Ray LaHood held the post for 14 years. LaHood says he was surprised and sad when Schock resigned following questions about travel expenses and donor relationships:

“I worried a little bit that when some of these stories came out that there, you know might be some problems or issues. But I certainly didn’t think it was going to lead to his resignation.”

LaHood went on to serve as President Barack Obama’s Transportation Secretary. His son, state Senator Darin LaHood, says he’s considering whether to run to fill Schock’s seat after Schock resigns this month.
