Nearly 650 Peoria trees suffering from emerald ash borer

The City of Peoria has identified nearly 650 ash-trees that are infected by the emerald ash borer pest. City Public Works Director Mike Rogers says that means 90-percent of the targeted trees will likely be uprooted and hauled away.  Rogers says the city could start a city nursery to grow replacement trees in the right-of-way.  He says the remainder of the trees will receive treatment every two years.
