Longer Peoria County, City weather siren test set Tuesday

City of Peoria and County residents should be prepared to hear the outdoor warning sirens a little longer Tuesday. The monthly test will take place at ten in the morning and could last up to three minutes.

This is to test a new system installed by the city and county of Peoria. The Peoria County Emergency Management Agency and Peoria’s Office of Emergency Management are typically responsible for manually sounding the sirens. This new system automatically receives tornado warning information and activates the sirens, which can boost efficiency during a storm
