Military medics have an opportunity to become Licensed Practical Nurses thanks to a new Illinois Central College program.
ICC is the third college in the state to offer a Practical Nurse Certificate for Military Medical Corpsmen. The 8 week course prepares military medics to take the national exam to become an LPN.
Veterans and active duty service members who completed their Medical Education and Training Campus within the last five years are eligible for the program.
Enrollment begins this fall, and veterans can use educational benefits like the GI bill to cover program expenses.
