PPD offers neutral ground for online transactions

The Peoria Police Department is offering its visitors parking lot and lobby for people to trade items on Craigslist.

Police spokeswoman Amy Dotson says the visitors lot on the Walnut Street side, and lobby of the police department, provide a neutral ground for safer transactions. She says it just makes sense that a would-be robber posing behind a Craigslist exchange would be detoured if the transaction happens at the police department.

Dotson says the City of Bloomington also offers the service.

The lobby of the Peoria Police Department is open from 6:00a.m. until 10:00p.m.
