Water leak causes damage at Peoria County Courthouse

Three courtrooms and the circuit clerk’s office at the Peoria County Courthouse were damaged after a weekend water leak. The leak came from the HVAC system and was discovered on Saturday.

The County Board Chairman implemented emergency procedures to contract with Menold Construction for clean-up efforts. The courthouse is expected to open for business as usual Tuesday.

Those reporting for court will be notified if their courtroom location has changed as a result of the water damage. The courthouse is closed Monday for Presidents Day.
