Pekin Police Chief Greg Nelson is retiring next month after 20 years with the city. Nelson is joining a California-based search firm that helps cities hire police chiefs. Pekin is currently crafting a process to pick a permanent replacement for Chief Nelson. Two Pekin Deputy Chiefs will lead daily operations until a replacement is chosen.
