The updated Caterpillar-sponsored NASCAR Chevrolet was unveiled at the Cat Visitor’s Center Wednesday.
The Number 31 Caterpillar Chevrolet SS features new graphics and paint changes this year. NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Driver Ryan Newman compared the race car machinery to Caterpillar equipment:
“The technology is so similar, even though the end product is so different. Their job is to get the work done fast, our job is to get the work done fast.”
Newman and his team owner also met with NASCAR fans and signed autographs. Cat has sponsored the racing car for more than 20 years.
