Warming centers offered ahead of bitterly cold temperatures

Peoria’s fire stations will continue to serve as warming centers as bitterly cold temperatures move into the area this week. The service is offered 24 hours a day.

The National Weather Service is predicting temperatures below zero from Tuesday night through Thursday morning. The lobbies of the Peoria Police Department and Peoria Civic Center are also open to the public from 8 to 6.

Peoria County Animal Protection Services is also reminding pet owners to properly care for animals in the winter months. More information is available here
