Motorists will have a tougher time getting through a busy intersection following an overnight water main break. Illinois American Water is asking drivers to avoid the intersection of University Street and Lake Avenue.
The company has shut down the southbound lane on University at Lake for repairs. Road restorations are expected to be completed next week.
