Governor Quinn announces funding for private colleges and universities in Central Illinois

Peoria Public Radio

Governor Quinn was at Bradley University today to announce funding for several private Central Illinois colleges and universities. The investments total $5.8 million.

Eureka College is receiving some of the money. Corrie Heck is the Director of Marketing and Communications for Eureka. She says the money is the fourth installment of a larger state grant:

"With these funds, we finalized the constructions of Sanders Hall, a 6.7 million dollar new academic building that opened this august, and this final installation will support the renovation of Vennum-Binkley Hall, a 100 year old academic building on campus."

Bradley University, Saint Francis University College of Nursing, Methodist College, as well as Monmouth and Knox Colleges are also receiving some of the funding.
