IDOT seeks public input for local five year plan

The public can weigh-in on the state’s long range transportation plans. The Illinois Department of Transportation has more than $14 billion in its current five year funding plan. Now officials are seeking public input on the next plan that runs through 2021. Maureen Addis is with I-DOT District Four. She says one priority is to improve local highway conditions following last winter’s harsh weather:

“A lot of commerce goes up and down those roads.  That’s how you get to the rail stations to off road to go cross country, that’s where a lot of the grain is hauled up and down there.”

Addis says District Four has about $500 million slated for infrastructure improvements.  Those interested in submitting comments or project-specific ideas for the five-year plan by November 14th can find more information by clicking here.
