A Peoria lawyer seeking state approval to grow and sell medical marijuana answered questions at a town hall meeting yesterday. Fadi Rustom is applying for both dispensary and cultivation permits in the city of Peoria with for his business, ‘Illinois Therapeutic Health Center’. He says the meeting was a chance to smooth out concerns about the monitoring and security of the medical cannabis:
“Because they’ll see very clearly that – and I can say this for other investors probably – it’s going to be done very professionally and with a lot of respect for the community.”
Fadi says his group is looking at a distribution center location that’s easily accessible and a cultivation center in the industrial part of the city. But it’s unclear exactly where his group is proposing the sites. Peoria County is hosting another town hall meeting on medical cannabis September 25th at Northminster Presbyterian Church.
