The American Red Cross and the Illinois Department of Transportation want to make it easier to identify a designated driver this Labor Day weekend.
This is the seventh year the Red Cross is distributing special “This is MY red solo cup” cups to participating area bars. The red cups allow sober drivers to enjoy free non-alcoholic drinks for the evening.
The bars will hang posters indicating their participation in the event as well as use beverage napkins to remind patrons to designate a driver.
Participating Peoria locations include Crusen’s, Kelleher’s, and Two25.
The Pekin bars are Goodfella’s Pub and Pizza, Jac’s Dog House, Kouri’s Pub and Yesterdays’ Bar and Grill.
