Peoria will be among the few stops the candidates for governor will face off in traditional debates.
Republican Bruce Rauner's campaign released a list Wednesday of eight debates and forums ahead of Nov. 4.
The Peoria debate is being hosted by WTVP and the League of Women Voters and is taking place October 9th. Governor Quinn and Rauner will also face off in two other debates in the Chicago area.
Gov. Pat Quinn's campaign criticized Rauner for "hiding," saying Wednesday that Quinn confirmed for 11 events. Rauner spokesman Mike Schrimpf says Rauner's list is diverse and more than the U.S. president does.
