Peoria School Board to vote on police officers, appoint new member

The District 150 School Board tonight will vote on a contract to again staff it’s three high schools and Woodruff technical center with Peoria City Police officers.  The proposed agreement would pay the city $47 per hour throughout the school year.  If approved, the agreement could be extended another three years if the city gets additional grant funding for the positions. The move comes following a state board decision to de-certify District 150’s own police force.

The Peoria Public School Board is also set to appoint Jon Bateman to a one-year term in the third district.  Bateman is a Richwoods High School parent and currently works for Caterpillar. He was one of eight candidates who interviewed for the post last month.
