The American Civil Liberties Union is suing the City of Peoria on behalf of a 29-year-old Peoria resident. The ACLU says the City violated the First and Fourth Amendment rights of Jon Daniel, the creator of the @peoriamayor Twitter account. Peoria police raided Daniel’s home in April, seized electronic devices and detained the roommates at the residence to find the author of the Twitter account. The Illinois ACLU is announcing the lawsuit later this morning.
