PHA IDs another possible parcel for Taft redevelopment project

The Peoria Housing Authority has identified a third parcel where it wants to build new homes for more than 200 units currently at Taft Homes.  The newest potential parcel is at 37-72 North Brandywine Drive, near the War Memorial and University intersection. PHA executive director Brenda Coates says the property could house 30 units and is close to public transportation.

A public input meeting on the parcel is planned for Monday at 5:30 in the Life Together Building on Sheridan Road.  The PHA has already identified two other properties for the project on Northeast Jefferson and West Lake Avenue.  The PHA also hopes to select a developer for the Taft Homes project later this month.
