Bradley students heading to Russia for Olympic Games

Eighteen Bradley University students are interning for NBC during the Winter Olympics in Russia next month.  Twelve students are working stateside, and six are heading overseas for the winter games.  Students in the communications department do everything from front-line tasks to production jobs for NBC. Paul Gulliford chairs Bradley’s Communications Department. He says the students had in-depth training during the time they were preparing for the interviews with NBC for the slots:

“Our alums came out and did mock interviews.  The Smith Career Center sent them through workshops, we recorded interview streams and critiqued them by the faculty.  We coached them on every phase of interviewing from how to answer a question to how to shake somebody’s hand.  By the time NBC got here, they were ready.”

Gulliford says Bradley is one of three schools participating in the internship program. He says ten additional Bradley students were picked for the summer Olympics games in London.
