After 60 years, two Pekin streets getting two-way traffic

Two streets in Pekin are switching to two-way traffic this Thursday for the first time in decades. The 300 blocks of South Fourth and South Capitol Streets will return to two-way traffic starting at noon on Thursday. Officials say it may take drivers some time to get used to the change. The Street Department will remove some of the one-way signs starting Wednesday. New yellow lane dividers will be painted on both streets with orange construction barrels drawing attention to the change.
