Bradley University’s incoming freshman class is the largest the school has seen in the last two classes. It’s more than 60 students than last year’s freshman class.
University President Joanne Glasser shared the new numbers during the annual State of the University address. She says 1,080 freshman are expected to arrive on campus this weekend. The last two freshman classes saw fewer than 1,020 students. Glasser also reports Bradley has a 95-percent job placement rate for students six months after graduation.
Saturday is also move-in day for all Bradley students. That means drivers can expect traffic delays on University Avenue between I-74 and campus. Several roads near Bradley are also closing Saturday for the student move-in. The traffic re-routing begins at seven and can be expected through the afternoon. Motorist can expect Elmwood at Main Street to be closed as well as Saint James at University Street. Bradley Avenue will be closed at the intersections of Duryea and Institute. The heaviest traffic is expected to last from 9 to three.
