Peoria police officer Glover enters guilty plea involving drunk driving crash

Peoria Police Sgt. Richard Glover pleaded guilty to trying to cover up a drunken driving crash involving a fellow officer.

41-year-old Glover entered his plea to a misdemeanor charge of attempted obstruction of justice on Friday. Prosecutors agreed to drop felony obstruction of justice and official misconduct charges.

Glover faces a maximum sentence of one year in jail and $2,500 fine when he returns to court for sentencing in October.

Officer John Couve, whose vehicle was involved in the 2012 crash, pleaded guilty in February to the same misdemeanor charge. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail and is scheduled to return to court in early October.
