FEMA opens two flood victim centers in Peoria County

FEMA has opened two Disaster Recovery Centers in Peoria County for flood victims to register for federal recovery assistance.  One center is at the Chillicothe Fire Department and the other is at Kickapoo Township Hall in Edwards.  The County says individuals can also register with FEMA online at DisasterAssistance.gov.

The County is also warning against a scam involving people pretending to work for FEMA and asking for social security and bank information.  Officials say FEMS does NOT contact homeowners asking for bank of Social Security information.  They say residents should also ask for identification if people from FEMA visit their home.
