Peoria Symphony Closes Season with a Tribute to New York

Our guest this week is George Stelluto, Music Director of the Peoria Symphony Orchestra. Their 121st season closes this week with the concert, "Great Cities: New York." Selections from Edward MacDowell and Samuel Barber reflect the Romantic tradition of the city; Broadway is represented by "West Side Story" and a "collage" of show tunes.

The concert also closes out the Orchestra's Resident Artist program  for 2018-2019, with pianist Geoffrey Duce. Stelluto talks about that project. A new resident artist will be announced soon. And an exhibit of art by local artists will be on display before and after the concert.

The Peoria Symphony Orchestra presents "Great Cities: New York," tomorrow night at 7:30 in the Peoria Civic Center Theater.
