Project 1612 Presents Pop-up Art Exhibit - This Weekend Only

This week, we're talking with Jessica Bingham, co-founder of Project 1612; and with artist Chintia Kirana. Kirana's art is featured in a two-day exhibit, Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. She will also be discussing her work from 1 to 2 on Saturday. She talks about some of the inspirations behind her work, and about choosing and curating the pieces that comprise this exhibit.

Bingham talks about the history of the unusual venue -- it's the two-car garage behind her house, converted into an exhibition space. The aim of the founders is to bring new artists to Peoria, to make art more accessible, and to break down barriers between artists and the public.

The exhibit "Through the Cracks" will be on display November 11th and 12th at Project 1612, located at 1612 West Margaret Avenue in Peoria.
