A Peoria High School English teacher has been arrested on charges of sexual abuse.
Bethany Newsome was arrested Tuesday morning on 3 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Peoria Police made the arrest after investigating a report of an inappropriate relationship between Newsome and a student.
Newsome was also the head coach of the Girls’ Volleyball team last fall.
