A 32-year-old Bartonville man died Thursday night after he was struck by multiple vehicles on Airport Road.

In a social media post Friday afternoon, Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood identified the man as Eric Williams. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:15 p.m.

According to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the intersection of Airport and Monroe roads around 9:30 p.m., and found Williams deceased in the roadway.

Two drivers pulled into a nearby gas station and called 911. The driver of the first vehicle told deputies he did not see Williams standing in the roadway because it was dark.

Harwood said autopsy results indicate Williams had been struck more than once, and he died instantly.

The incident remains under investigation by the coroner's and sheriff's offices.
