The Landmark Recreation Center in Peoria will close next month after 46 years.
The venue announced the closure in a social media post Wednesday, attributing the decision to “the pending sale of our property.” The site was previously put up for auction in 2022.
“We encourage you to visit our bowling center and lounge before our final day, and we look forward to see familiar faces as we say goodbye,” the message read, adding the business on North Dries Lane will close its doors on Sept. 23.
The Landmark team said the privately-owned UFitness health club within the recreation center will continue to operate.
The Lounge At Landmark bar had been operating in the recreation center since January, replacing Gone Social.
