The Peoria County Coroner has identified the man found dead late last week in a parked truck.

Coroner Jamie Harwood said the man is 73-year-old Edward DeArcos of Peoria.

The coroner said preliminary autopsy findings did not show any evidence of injury, trauma or foul play. A full evaluation of DeArcos’ cause of death is pending toxicology tests, further study and review of his medical records.

On June 13, the coroner’s office was called around 1:30 p.m. to 1910 Northeast Jefferson Avenue, where officials found DeArcos dead in the front seat of a Penske truck. At the time, Harwood said estimates indicate he was possibly there for more than a month.

The case remains under investigation by the Peoria Police Department and the coroner’s office.
