East Peoria city leaders will consider approving an agreement to facilitate a planned subdivision along Old Bloomington Road.

Property owners Underham LLC are looking to develop vacant land at 2518 Bloomington Road, east of city limits, into seven residential lots.

According to city documents, the property is currently “a substantial distance” from city limits and available water and sewer lines.

The agreement calls for a 20-year term under which full annexation could be considered if the city limits expand to become contiguous with the subdivision.

A public hearing on the pre-annexation is scheduled at the beginning of Tuesday’s 6 p.m. city council meeting. A vote to approve the agreement is included on the meeting’s regular agenda.

A final plat for the proposed subdivision must be approved within 30 days of approval of the pre-annexation agreement.
