A 15-year-old male was arrested for first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of a 39-year-old man a week ago on Peoria's East Bluff.

Peoria Police say the juvenile was taken into custody by detectives Friday morning in the 1800 block of West Bradley Avenue. Detectives searched a home in the same area and found a handgun and ammunition.

On Sunday, Dec. 22, Peoria Police responded to a report of a person shot and found James Miller,39, with a gunshot wound in the 300 block of East Arcadia Avenue. Miller was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead shortly after.

The juvenile is being held at the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
